Privacy
Last updated September 1, 2026
This policy covers the apps published by Akrasia Studios, LLC ("we," "us"), including Out Loud and On the Hook. It explains what each app collects, where that information lives, and what we do with it. If we release a new app, this page will be updated before it ships.
The short version
- Almost everything stays on your phone.
- We don't show ads, and we don't sell or share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
- Health data never leaves your device and is never used for marketing.
- Nothing we make involves real money wagering.
- You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you by emailing hello@akrasiastudios.com.
Out Loud
On your device
Your daily lines, streaks, favorites, grace balance, settings, and history are stored locally on your phone. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it. We don't have a copy.
Health data
Out Loud can unlock certain moments based on activity from Apple Health, such as steps, workouts, sleep, or mindful minutes. This only happens if you grant permission in iOS, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings. Health data is read and processed on your device. It is never sent to our servers, never shared with any third party, and never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than the feature you turned on.
Circle
If you choose to join a Circle, we store the display name you pick, the grace you give, and the lines you leave for others, so that the people in your Circle can see them. That's the only information the Circle feature sends to us. Your streak breaks, missed days, and passes are never shown to anyone. Leave a Circle and your entries are removed from it; email us and we'll delete them entirely.
Resonance
Lines you submit to the shared library come to us for review before anyone sees them. Submissions are stored without your name or any identifier that links back to you. Counts shown in the app are aggregate totals, not individual votes.
Purchases
Subscriptions and grace packs are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened so the app can unlock what you bought. We never see your payment details.
On the Hook
On the Hook is a simulation. There is no real money wagering, no deposits, no withdrawals, and no connection to any sportsbook. Your paper bankroll, career progress, and settings are stored on your device. Delete the app and they're gone. We don't require an account and don't collect personal information to play.
On the Hook is intended for adults. It depicts simulated sports wagering and is rated accordingly on the App Store.
Every app we make
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of personal information.
- No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
- No third-party analytics. If we ever add crash reporting, it will be limited to technical diagnostics and this page will say so.
- Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we'll delete it.
- Support email is handled by us directly. If you write to us, we keep the message so we can help you and follow up. We don't add you to any list.
Your choices
Data on your device is yours. Delete the app to remove it, or use the app's own reset options. For anything we hold on our side, such as Circle entries or a support conversation, email us and we'll delete it within 30 days and confirm when it's done.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or how we use it, we'll update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell you in the app.
